Skype-an-Author Series Continues @ TCPL This Spring

The Tuscarawas County Public Library System wants to make sure you’re given the opportunity.

This spring, the library will continue its popular Skype-an-Author @ Your Library series to feature conversations with six best-selling authors using Skype software. The virtual author visits will take place during book club events that span the system’s five locations.

Homeschoolers' Club: Freedom Bound at the PAC

Our New Philadelphia location's Homeschoolers' Club will be meeting at the Performing Arts Center to attend the play Freedom Bound on Friday, February 10th at 12:30PM.

The play is based on the story of Addison White, a slave who escaped from Kentucky, traveling the Underground Railroad to the town of Mechanicsburg, Ohio. There, he lived with a farmer named Udney Hyde, helping with the farm work and learning to read and write. The play, which includes music, is one of the five shows in the Performing Arts Class Act series at Kent State University at Tuscarawas. The daytime educational performances are only $1 per person, so the show makes for a financially feasible option for adding something special to February’s curriculum.
