Service Response #4: General Information
The library will serve as a dependable source of
reliable and current information in order to assist library users in
their day-to-day pursuits of career, family, and leisure activities.
GENERAL INFORMATION—ADULT DEPARTMENT
Objective #1 Adult services staff will
attend a minimum of two training programs per year.
Objective #2 The library will provide
a variety of new technological resources to the public over the next
five years.
Objective #3 The number of reference
questions answered will increase by 3% each year.
Objective #4 The number of library
users studying at the library will increase by 5% within five years.
Objective #5 The use of research
databases by adults and teens and will increase by 5% each year.
GENERAL INFORMATION—CHILDREN’S
DEPARTMENT
Objective #1 Within two years, the
library will have an operating Dial-A-Story program in place for the
public.
Objective #2 Within two years, the
children’s portion of the library’s website will be updated and
expanded.
Objective #3 The number of reference
questions asked at the New Philadelphia juvenile location will increase
2% each year for five years.
Objective #4 Within two years, when
responding to surveys, educators and library users will be aware of 90%
of the services that the New Philadelphia location offers in its
juvenile department.
Objective #5 Within three years, 90%
of juveniles attending school districts within our service district will
have library cards.
GENERAL INFORMATION—EXTENSION
DEPARTMENT
Objective # 1 Within one year, the
number of reference questions asked per branch location will increase by
5%.
Objective # 2 Within one year, at
least 90% of library users surveyed will respond that they received good
or excellent answers to their reference questions (at each branch
library).
Objective # 3 Within five years, the
average date of publication of 70% of the non-fiction collection at each
branch library will be less than five years old.
