Meeting Room Policy

The Meeting Room of the Tuscarawas County Public Library is available for use at no charge during the hours that the library is open. The meeting room is for the use of:
  • Library Board of Trustee meetings
  • Library staff meetings
  • Library programs
  • Meetings of library-affiliated organizations
  • Public meetings, of general interest to the community, held by non-commercial, non-denominational, non-political organizations.

No more than 45 people are to be in the meeting room at any time, in accordance with state fire codes.

No admission may be charged for any meeting, except for library-sponsored programs.

All meetings must be open to the general public, except for library staff and organization meetings.

Those wishing to use the Meeting Room should contact the main Circulation desk to make a reservation. Except that library-sponsored activities have first priority, as shown in the above list, reservations will be accepted on a first-come first-served basis. No group may reserve the room for longer than four hours at one time, nor any more often than once per calendar month.

The library can provide no kitchen equipment, utensils or supplies whatsoever. Guests may fill their coffee pots in the public restrooms, and may use the electrical outlet in the Meeting room for same. All such items left behind become property of the library.

The room reservation must be made by an individual, over the age of 18, who will be in attendance throughout the meeting, and who will be responsible for returning the room to its original condition.

No smoking or alcoholic beverages are permitted in the library.

The library makes no endorsement, express or implied, of any non-library event or activity held in the meeting room. Publicity of such events must include a disclaimer to this effect.
