County Library Offering Assistance with New Gadgets

The Tuscarawas County Public Library System’s Main Library located at 121 Fair Ave NW in New Philadelphia will be hosting a series of programs for anyone who received a new gadget this year for the holidays.

“These programs are geared toward anyone who got a new smartphone, tablet, e-reader or gadget for the holidays and wants a little help with the basics and getting started,” stated Emerging Technology Associate Virginia Wright. “We will be offering three separate programs that are broken down by the brand of gadgets to make it a little easier to learn.”

Wright stated that the three programs offered are for Kindle Fire, Android, and iOS (Apple) users. If you have a question about what category your device falls under, you’re encouraged to contact the library to get assistance in determining which program is right for you.

“We love being able to offer these programs,” said County Library Director Michelle McMorrow Ramsell. “It’s exciting to get new gadgets as gifts, but sometimes it can be intimidating to get things started and figured out all on your own.”

The county library hosts a wide variety of technology programs and trainings throughout the year.

“This is just a small piece of the larger technology training that we offer at the county library,” stated Wright. “In addition to the many programs and classes we offer, we also provide one-on-one assistance for anyone who would like to schedule a Book-a-Librarian or Tech Guy Time. These are available by calling any library location or registering through the event calendar on our website.”

Dates and times for the gadget programs are as follows:

  • Beginning Gadget Users: Kindle Fire – Saturday, January 20th from 10AM-12PM
  • Beginning Gadget Users: Android – Saturday, February 3rd from 10AM-12PM
  • Beginning Gadget Users: iOS – Saturday, February 3rd from 1PM-3PM
