Electronic & E-Waste Recycling Day

Back by popular demand, the Tuscarawas County Public Library System will host a drive-thru Electronic, e-Waste, and Computer recycling event on Saturday, March 25th from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM at its Main Library in the public parking lot off of North Broadway in New Philadelphia. The recycling event is in partnership with eCycle Solutions of Ohio.

“Old, broken, and outdated electronic items take up a lot of space in our homes,” said Information Technology Manager Larry Ritchie. “This is a great opportunity to purge unwanted items from our homes in an environmentally safe way.”

Examples of accepted items include but are not limited to: computers, printers, scanners, modems. routers, cell phones, VCRs, DVD players, game consoles, stereo/audio equipment, small desktop copiers, fax machines, lead acid batteries, lithium-ion batteries, Christmas lights, ballasts, vacuum, carpet cleaners, sweepers, and small household appliances.

Ritchie said eCycle will not accept biohazardous equipment, glass tube screens, alkaline batteries, CRT monitors, light bulbs, or fluorescent tubes.

“Other than those restrictions, there is no limit on the number of items a person can recycle,” said Ritchie.
