The Tuscarawas County Public Library System will offer a variety of technology programs from learning how to navigate MakerSpace tools to mastering the basics of Gmail. The fall offerings will take place at the Main Library in New Philadelphia and the Bolivar Branch.
“I’m looking forward to helping people try something new or discover what they can create,” says Technology Training Coordinator Leigh Burnham. “Our upcoming programs give people a chance to get hands-on with technology in a fun, beginner-friendly way.”
September:
Free Streaming with Library Apps. Tuesday, September 15th at 11:00AM. Learn about how to make the most of your Library Card with access to streaming services.
Sublimation 101. Thursday, September 24th at 2:00PM. Go step-by-step through the process of using the sublimation printer and heat press in our MakerSpace and complete a guided project.
Computer Basics. Wednesday, September 30th at 2:00 PM. Participate in this hands-on class to get a beginner-friendly look as using a computer. This program is at the Bolivar Branch (455 West Water St., Bolivar).
October:
- Phone Basics. Tuesday, October 6th. Learn about the basic features of your phone to get the most out of your device.
IOS Basics – 10:00AM
Android Basics – 1:00PM
- Gmail Basics. Wednesday, October 14th at 11:00AM. Learn basic Gmail functions, including sending emails, attaching files, deleting and moving emails, and organizing messages.
- Canva for the MakerSpace. Thursday, October 29th at 2:00PM. Come and learn how to use Canva, a free, web-based graphic design program for MakerSpace projects.
November:
- Microsoft Office Products. Wednesday, November 4th. Learn about the key Microsoft Office Suite products: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in these interactive programs.

Intro to Microsoft PowerPoint – 2:00PM
- Cutting the Cord. Tuesday, November 10th at 2:00PM. Receive an intro to streaming services, show you how to connect them to your TV.
- Cricut Design Space. Thursday, November 19th at 2:00 PM. Learn basic navigation of the Design Space software, Cricut’s features, and complete a guided project.
