Technology Classes


The Tuscarawas County Public Library System is offering a variety of introductory technology courses to enhance your resume or brush up on the basics in 2026.
“My goal is to create a welcoming space where anyone can learn technology,” said Technology Training Coordinator Leigh Burnham. “From basic computer skills to beginner-friendly introductions to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, these classes help people feel more confident and capable using everyday tech.”
January and February classes include: 

 

  • Computer Basics 
    Strasburg Branch 
    Tuesday, January 13th at 2:00 PM
    This hands-on class covers basics like powering on, using the mouse, understanding the desktop, and opening simple programs. You’ll learn to navigate the internet, use the keyboard—no prior experience needed. Limit: 8

 

  • Google Photos
    Main Library
    Tuesday, January 20th at 10:00 AM OR 1:00 PM
    Learn how to organize, store, and share your photos and videos. A Google account is required. Limit: 8 per session.

 

  • Intro to Microsoft Word
    Main Library
    Wednesday, January 28th at 10:00 AM
    This class will show you how to create and edit documents, format text, adjust spacing, and use essential tools like copy and paste. You’ll also learn how to save, print, and create PDFs. Limit: 6

 

  • Intro to Microsoft Excel
    Main Library
    Wednesday, January 28th at 11:30 AM
    Learn the basics, including how to enter data and formulas, move and copy information, and format your spreadsheet. We’ll also cover tips like print preview and page setup to get your worksheet ready to share. Limit: 6

 

  • Intro to Microsoft PowerPoint 
    Main Library
    Wednesday, January 28th at 2:00 PM
    Learn the basics including how to create slides, add text and images, and apply simple design elements. We’ll also cover tips for organizing your presentation and running a slideshow with confidence.
    Limit: 6

 

  • Canva for MakerSpace
    Main Library
    Wednesday, February 4th at 2:00 PM
    Learn how to use Canva, a free, web-based graphic design program that can be used to help you create MakerSpace projects. A personal email address is needed to create an account. Limit: 8

The Strasburg Branch is located at 356 Fifth Street SW in Strasburg. The Main Library & Operations Center is located at 121 Fair Ave NW in New Philadelphia.
