Fall Storytimes featuring songs, stories, and fun for various ages begin September 14th at the Tuscarawas County Public Library System’s five locations.
In addition to being a fun time, Library Storytimes nurture the early literacy skills that prepare children to be ready to read when they go to school. Storytime presenters model how a child’s first teacher, their parent or caregiver, can help reinforce early literacy skills at home.
“Our Storytime presenters have been trained in early literacy skills and practices that help children be ready to read,” says Strasburg Branch Supervisor Emily Crilley. “Presenters weave these concepts into every Storytime, which allows parents and caregivers to see early literacy teaching modeled throughout the storytime series.”
The County Library offers Storytimes for different age groups and different times including evenings and weekends. Storytime offerings across the Tuscarawas County Public Library System include:
- Weekly Family Storytimes (ages birth – 5 years)
Designed for all ages with stories, songs, and fun.
Bolivar Branch – Mondays at 10:30AM
Strasburg, Sugarcreek, and Tusky Branches – Wednesdays at 10:00AM
Main Library – Every Saturday at 11:00AM
- Monthly Evening Family Storytimes (ages birth – 5 years)
Designed for all ages with stories, songs, and fun.
Tusky Branch – Thursdays, September 17th, October 15th, and November 12th at 6:00PM.
Weekly Itty Bitty Storytime (ages birth – 24 months)
Designed for babies and caregivers to explore songs, stories, and fun.
Main Library – Mondays at 6:00PM or Tuesdays at 10:00AM
- Weekly Toddler Time (ages 2-3 years)
Designed to engage toddlers with movement, stories, songs, and instruments.
Main Library – Wednesdays at 10:00AM
- Weekly Giggle Gym (ages 2-5 years)
Join the students from Kent State University at Tuscarawas’ Preschool Curriculum Class for songs, stories, and fun in this interactive Storytime.
Main Library – Tuesdays at 11:00AM
- Weekly Preschool Storytime (ages 3-5 years)
Designed for preschoolers with fun and interactive activities.
