Free Summer Camps at the County Library

The Tuscarawas County Public Library System is offering free summer camps for school-age kids in grades K-5 related to dinosaurs, earth sciences, and art starting in June across the system. 

“We are really excited to provide kids a fun environment to learn and connect with other kids in the community,” said Olivia Martin, Sugarcreek Branch Supervisor. 

Summer Camps include:

  • Art Camp (Main Library). Every Monday, June 8th – July 27th at 10:00AM. Kids grades K-5 can learn about different artists and art movements and reinterpret great works and styles with various mediums. Please wear clothes that can get messy. 
  • Dinosaur Summer Camp (Sugarcreek Branch). Select Wednesdays at 1:00PM: June 10th, June 17th, June 24th, July 1st, and July 8th. Kids in grades 1-5 can join us each week for lessons in earth science and geology-themed art projects. 
  • Fun with Food (Main Library). Select Wednesdays at 3:00PM: June 10th (Grades K-2), June 24th (Grades 2-3), and July 8th (Grades 3-5). Join us to make a dino-themed recipe.
  • Dino Detectives (Main Library). Select Thursdays, June 11th, June 18ths, and June 25th at 3:00PM. Solve dino-themed mysteries and discover clues like a real paleontologist. 
  • Paleontology Camp (Strasburg Branch). Thursday, June 11th, June 18th, and June 25th at 3:00PM. Kids in grades 1-6 will learn about dinosaurs through hands-on activities. 
  • Dinosaur Cooking Camp. (Tusky Branch) Select Mondays at 3:30: June 15th, June 22nd, and June 29th. School-age (K-5) kids can join us in making different dino-themed recipes. 
  • IRL Games. (Main Library). Select Fridays, July 10th, July 17th, and July 24th at 4:30PM. Kids in grades 3-5 can join us to create playdough pizzas, race through an obstacle course, and dress for themed fashion shows. Wear easily layered attire.
  • Dino Art Camp. (Bolivar Branch). Tuesday, July 28th and Thursday, July 30th at 3:00PM or 6:00PM. Kids in grades K-5) Join us to create different dino-themed art pieces with different styles.
