Local Author Visits this Summer

The Tuscarawas County Public Library System will feature two local author visits at its Main Library this summer.

On Tuesday, June 30th at 6:00PM, Pete Kavadas will share his story of growing up in a West Virginia steel town in his compelling memoir Most Unlikely to Succeed. Attendees will learn more about how he overcame poverty, tragedy, and circumstances that made success seem impossible.

On Wednesday, July 15th at 6:00PM, Carrie Ruegsegger will discuss her book Chin Up, Beautiful, I’ve Got You, which is composed of deeply personal letters written to her younger self, opening the conversation around adoption, emotional wellness, and the importance of understanding, support, and connection within families and communities.

“We are looking forward to hearing Pete and Carrie share their personal stories and their experience writing these books,” said Adult & Teen Services Manager Tabitha Renner.

Renner said after each author’s presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and books will be available to purchase and have signed by the authors.

These author visits are free to attend, but registration is required. Sign up at tusclibrary.org or call 330-364-4474. The Main Library is located at 121 Fair Ave NW, New Philadelphia.
