The Tuscarawas County Public Library System will feature a Cosplay Contest during their second annual Fan Fest on Saturday, August 1st from 10:30AM – 4:00PM at its Main Library.
Fan Fest is an all-age event that celebrates geeky curiosities and fandoms. In addition to the Cosplay Contest, Fan Fest will include panels, special performances, a ramen eating contest, a food truck, a Mugicians performance, crafts, a video game tournament, a fantasy drink café, and more. Those who register and attend will receive an exclusive sticker at the event.
The Cosplay Contest is open to anyone 12 and up. Anyone not participating in the Cosplay Contest may participate in the Cosplay Catwalk, which will take place while the judges are deliberating and give individuals and families the opportunity to show off their costumes.
“We are looking forward to seeing everyone’s creativity come to life with their costumes and support a safe, welcoming atmosphere for everyone to enjoy no matter your level of experience,” said Public Service Associate Maeggie Dotts.
Cosplay participants may choose to enter under one of the following categories:
-Beginner: Little to no cosplay experience. At least 50% of the cosplay is handmade or altered.
-Experienced: Cosplayers who have either participated in contests or have costuming experience. At least 75% or more of the cosplay is handmade or altered.
All costumes and conduct must adhere to TCPL Library policies which can be found at tusclibrary.org.
